Are You Truly Ready for the Mountains?

Every trekker knows the feeling: the breathtaking views, the thin air, and the thrill of the summit. But the mountains also demand a heavy price from the body. Whether it’s knee strain on a steep descent or fatigue that sets in halfway through a climb, physical preparation is the difference between a painful ordeal and a life-changing journey.

At TrekNomads, in association with Granimals, we believe that "fitness" isn't enough. You need to be Mountain Fit.

What is MFAP?

The Mountain Fit Assessment Program (MFAP) is a comprehensive, science-backed screening designed to evaluate your readiness for high-altitude trekking and technical climbs.

This isn't just a gym check-up. It is a specialised protocol led by trained Physiotherapists to identify your body's strengths and "silent" weaknesses before they become injuries on the trail.

The Three Pillars of Mountain Fitness

  1. Structural Durability: Assessing joint stability (knees, ankles, and hips) to ensure you can handle the rigours of uneven terrain.
  2. Load-Bearing Capacity: Evaluating core and posterior chain strength for carrying backpacks over long distances.
  3. Ascent Efficiency: Checking your cardiovascular recovery and gait mechanics to optimise your energy on steep inclines.

How It Works

Step 1: The Professional Assessment

Fill out our specialised intake form to schedule your evaluation. Our expert Physiotherapists will analyse your current physical state, past injuries, and upcoming trek goals.

Step 2: The Evaluation Report

You will receive a detailed Mountain Fit Report Card. This identifies your "Trek Readiness Score" and highlights areas that need focus to prevent common injuries like ACL strains, IT band syndrome, or lower back pain.

Step 3: The Prescription

Knowledge is only half the battle. We provide you with a customised exercise prescription, complete with HD video links. These movements are specifically curated to build the functional strength required for the mountains.

The Benefits

  • Injury Prevention: Address muscle imbalances before they lead to pain.
  • Peak Performance: Recover faster and hike further with less fatigue.
  • Expert Guidance: Stop guessing your workouts; train with a plan backed by medical professionals.
  • Comfort on the Trail: Enjoy the scenery instead of focusing on your aching joints.
