  • Government-Issued Identification: Passport details, Aadhaar card, or other official identification numbers strictly required for forestry permits, high-altitude checkpoints, border permissions, and travel insurance coverage.

  • Health & Fitness Information: Medical Certificates signed by a registered medical practitioner, blood group, fitness tracking logs/proofs, dietary restrictions, and emergency medical disclosures required to ensure trail safety and determine trek suitability.

  • Emergency Contacts: Name, relationship, phone number, and email address of your designated emergency contact person.

  • Payment & Transaction Data: Billing address and transaction history (note: credit card or UPI banking details are processed securely by PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment gateways and are not stored on our servers).

B. Usage Data

We may also collect information on how the Service is accessed and used ("Usage Data"). This may include your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.

3. Consent and Withdrawal

Your Personal Data is processed based on your free, specific, informed, unconditional, and unambiguous consent.

  • Please note: Withdrawing consent for the processing of mandatory travel, identity, or medical data prior to a trek will render you ineligible to participate, and such cancellations will be governed strictly by our standard Cancellation Policy without refund.

4. Rights and Duties of Data Principals

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you (the "Data Principal") have the following enforceable rights and statutory duties:

Your Rights:

  • Right to Information & Access: You may request a summary of the Personal Data we process about you and the identities of third parties with whom it has been shared.

  • Right to Correction & Erasure: You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data, or erase your Personal Data once the lawful purpose of its collection has been fulfilled (unless retention is required by law).

  • Right to Grievance Redressal: You have the right to register a privacy-related grievance with our designated team.

  • Right to Nominate: You have the right to nominate another individual to exercise your data rights in the event of your death or incapacity.

  • Data Breach Notification: In the rare event of a personal data breach affecting your information, TrekNomads will promptly notify the Data Protection Board of India (DPBI) and affected individuals without delay, as mandated by law.

6. International Transfer of Data

If you are located outside India and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to India and process it here. Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer. TrekNomads ensures that adequate security safeguards are in place for any data transfers.

7. Security of Data & Retention

We implement reasonable technical and organisational security safeguards to protect your Personal Data against unauthorised access, loss, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes set out in this policy, resolve disputes, enforce our legal agreements, or comply with statutory auditing and taxation laws.

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site.
