How do I book a trek?
Booking is easy; pick your trek and batch date from our website, and secure your spot with a small deposit. You can also reach out directly via call, WhatsApp, or email and our team will guide you through the whole process, from choosing the right trek to sorting your itinerary and prep guide.
What fitness is needed?
Fitness needs vary by trek; our site lists a difficulty grade for each one, from easy weekend hikes to demanding Himalayan expeditions and technical climbs like Kang Yatse II. As a general rule, we recommend building stamina with regular cardio, stair climbing, and some strength training a few weeks before departure.
Not sure which trek fits your fitness level? Our team is happy to help you pick one that matches.
Are international flights included?
No, international flights aren't included in the trek cost. Our packages cover accommodation, meals during the trek, permits, local transport, and guide/porter support from the base town onward (for Himalayan and international treks, this is typically from your arrival city like Kathmandu, Leh, or Srinagar). We'll share the nearest airport and base town details so you can plan your flights.
What's your cancellation policy?
We've kept our cancellation policy nomad-friendly, with refund tiers based on how close to departure you cancel:
- International treks: 100% refund (as a TrekNomads voucher) if cancelled 60+ days before departure, tapering to 75% (46-59 days), 50% (31-45 days), and no refund within 30 days — though you can transfer your spot to a friend. A 10% cancellation charge applies.
- Himalayan/multi-day treks: 100% at 45+ days, 75% (31-44 days), 50% (16-30 days), no refund within 15 days. A 5% cancellation charge applies.
- One-day/two-day/Western Ghats treks: 100% at 14+ days, 75% (10-13 days), 50% (7-9 days), no refund within 6 days. A 5% cancellation charge applies.
All refunds are issued as trek vouchers valid for life and redeemable across any TrekNomads trek. Full terms are on our Cancellation Policy page.
How do I prepare for high-altitude treks?
Good prep makes a real difference at altitude. We recommend building cardio fitness in the weeks before departure, staying well-hydrated, and avoiding alcohol/smoking close to and during the trek. On the trail, our itineraries build in proper acclimatization days, and our trek leaders monitor everyone closely for signs of altitude sickness throughout. If you have any pre-existing health conditions, do check with your doctor before booking, and let our team know in advance.
