Day 1: Arrive in Sydney, transfer to the hotel for rest and trek preparation.
Day 2: Drive from Sydney to Jindabyne (450 km, approx. 6 hours).
Day 3: Summit Mount Kosciuszko via Thredbo Village, trek distance 13 km (4-5 hours).
Day 4: Drive back to Sydney from Jindabyne (450 km, approx. 6 hours).
Day 5: Depart from Sydney Airport for your return journey.

Day 1: Arrival in Sydney

Pickup from Sydney Airport and transfer to your hotel for rest and preparation for the upcoming adventure.

Day 2: Sydney to Jindabyne

Begin your journey with a scenic drive from Sydney to Jindabyne, located at the base of Mount Kosciuszko.

  • Altitude: Jindabyne - 1,000 meters (3,281 feet) above sea level.

  • Travel Distance: 450 km (approx.).

  • Travel Time: Around 6 hours by road.


Day 3: Summit Mount Kosciuszko

Drive to Thredbo Village and take the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift to begin your trek to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko. Enjoy panoramic views and the stunning alpine scenery as you make your way to the summit.

Preparation Guide for Your Trek

This trek is suitable for beginners, and no specialised training or previous trekking experience is required. However, maintaining a good level of fitness and health is essential to fully enjoy the experience.

To ensure you're adequately prepared, here are some helpful tips:

  1. Physical Fitness:

    • It is important to be in good general health and be willing to make an effort. If you're not currently engaged in regular exercise, aim for at least 1-2 weeks of preparation.

    • Cardiovascular Endurance: Focus on building stamina. Jogging is an excellent way to improve cardiovascular fitness and prepare your body for the trek. Aiming for 20-30 minutes of jogging a few times a week will help you build endurance.

  2. Strength Training:

    • Incorporate uphill walking or stair climbing with a backpack to simulate the conditions of the trek. This will help you strengthen your legs and improve your walking efficiency on uneven terrain.

  3. General Tips:

    • If possible, gradually increase the duration and intensity of your exercise sessions to get your body accustomed to physical activity.
